Pics from my Awesome Hike

These photos are from a hike i went on last weekend with my dad.
we climbed down a big hill for a bit more than a mile then followed a trail paralleling the river..

It was hot and sunny, we had a backpack with some towels and water bottles. We came to a waterfall and crossed the top of it onto a trail to swim under it..

Everything was nice and green even though it haddn't rained in a longgg time. The river still had water in it but none was flowing over the rocks into the waterfall area.

this is where i got in and swam..

The water was warmer than i thought but cool compared to the 95* degree temperature outside. I waded in and went under, it was only about 6 feet at the deepest point. I did not open my eyes under there, i looked down in the water and saw little bits of algee and specks, yucky stuff that had been sitting in there for a while :-P

i got out and sat on the rocks with my dad.. were a few other people with there kids, dogs, some people were drinking beer and some girls had brought a radio..blehh nature sounds so much better than a mainstream pop station.
The sky was a bit darker to the right of us, and could have a slight storm in it. nahhh i said, i doubted we would actually have rain, were in a drought. Some people left for fear of rain..we were swimming so i didn't see what the rain could actually do :)
Then the wind came and brought a surge of rain pour! it was amazzzing. Some people ran away over the waterfall and back to the trail. i went in the water again and my dad went into the trees to keep the backpack dry. that somewhat sucseeded.
I walked a bit through a trail and came out on the other side of the shore on the river, it was beautiful. There was rainfall and i was on a pebble shore looking out to the cliffs and a bend in the river :-D I was in awe of the power of nature and her beauty..

That was the best part of the swimming area.

We hid under the trees for a little and then left, the rain picked up and lightning and thunder riped through the sky. We passed some police officers on the trail trying to stay dry, they were seeing if there was anyone who was drunk and causing problems.

Now we were soaked and trying to climb back up the trail, the water was pouring down in streams past us. we were hiking with our shirts off and my backpack on, trying to keep rain out of our eyes. That was an awesome hike indeed, even more so because we got soaked.

thanks for reading sorry for the bad photo quality my phone is old and low pixel count.
